Acquired from an altitude of 705km this Landsat 7 ETM+ false colour image over central Finland has been enhanced using the near-infrared, shortwave-infrared and red wavelengths displayed as red, green and blue.

The image covers an area 76km x 40km of the Finish Lakeland (black) dominated by coniferous  forests (brown) intermingled with bare soil, grassland and fields.  This naturally occurring landscape provides an image in the style of Jackson Pollock’s  “Blue Poles”.
