Acquired from an altitude of 705km this Landsat 7 ETM+ false colour image over the northern margin of the Tarim Basin, China has been enhanced using the short-wave infrared, near infrared and green wavelengths displayed as red, green and blue. The image covers an area 40km x 35km.
The image highlights the various lithologies of the complexly folded and thrust Palaeozoic rocks within the transpressive Kaplin Uplift.
