Acquired from an altitude of 705km this Landsat 7 ETM+ false colour image over a coastal area of the Sakha Republic, Russia has been enhanced using the short-wave infrared, near infrared and green wavelengths displayed as red, green and blue. The image covers an area 40km x 35km.
This summer image highlights an inlet of the Laptev Sea along the Sakha coastline. The melting ice of the sea is highlighted in cyan and blue colours. The tundra landscape consists of soils (orange), river soil/vegetation (brown) and perigalical lakes (Cyan).
