Acquired from an altitude of 705km this Landsat 7 ETM+ false colour image of The Fens has been enhanced using the near infrared, short wave infrared and red wavelengths displayed as red, green and blue. The image covers an area 40km x 35km.
The Fens, in Eastern England is low lying flat area of primarily agricultural use. The various fields of crops which are a vast mixture of grains and vegetables provides a unique patchwork quilt effect in this false colour image.
