Acquired from an altitude of 705km this Landsat 7 ETM+ false colour image over North Siberia has been enhanced using the short-wave infrared, near infrared and green wavelengths displayed as red, green and blue. The image covers an area 40km x 35km.

This image captures the spring thaw in this remote arctic region; frozen streams (cyan) entwine the surrounding bog land (green/brown), periglacial lakes (blue) are scattered throughout.
